  • How do you say Les Arcs?

    Lays - Ark

Resort Lowdown

With an incredible variety of slopes accessed straight from the traffic-free town and an altitude that gives great conditions all winter long, there no wonder that the villages of Les Arcs has been a firm favourite for snow-lovers for the past 40 years.

Les Arcs is spread across 7 compact villages allowing visitors great access to slopes and other amenities, much of the accommodation is ski-in-ski-out (weather permitting), and you are never far from the nearest bar or restaurant.

For down days there is a speedy funicular that takes you from Arc 1600 down to the picturesque town of Bourg Saint Mourice.

  • With a huge variety of pistes, great snow conditions, and unbelievable views there is no wonder why Les Arcs is regarded as one of the best Ski resorts in the World

The SKI Area

Les Arcs Resort has everything from mellow tree lines and green pistes, to death-defying blacks; with the lowest piste at 1400m and the highest on the Aguille Rouge Glacier at 3228m.

Although there is more than enough to explore in the local area, Les Arcs is connected to La Plagne via the biggest cable car in the world. With 425km of rideable piste this connection makes up the Super Resort of Paradiski.

Advanced skiers and boarders can try their best to hit all four corners of this enormous ski area in one day but be warned, to make it you will have to start the day with first lifts and be prepared to skip lunch.

For those looking for a more mellow experience, the wide blue pistes that Les Arcs is famous for allow you to relax and carve your own line without worrying about bumping shoulders with others.

When Does Les Arcs Open?

The resort opens its lifts to the public on the 15th December 2018 and closes on the 22nd April 201

When To Go To Les Arcs?

Due to the massive altitude, great conditions can be found in the resort almost every single day of the winter season. Due to its popularity, February half term is absolutely rammed with lift ques of up to an hour on major lifts (another reason to go Off Peak!), the other 4 months of the season are pretty quiet, however, and often skiers can back to back runs with no waiting at the lifts.

Must Do Runs at Les Arcs

The leg burning 16km over 2026m descent from Aguille Rouge to Villaroger is one of the longest continuous run in the Alps and a must do from good intermediate to advanced riders. Can you do it in one? Tag Off Peak Week in your videos if you can

The Town

The towns of Les Arcs are - Villaroger, Plan Paisey, Vallandry, Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950 and Arc 2000.

Each town has a great selection of shops, rental facilities, ski schools, bars and restaurants giving great variety for a week’s holiday.

With snow covering the higher villages all winter long guests can enjoy skiing right from their doorstep in the mornings,  but be advised that some sturdy shoes are required if you plan on venturing out at night to the bars and restaurants. Those high heels or fashionable plimsolls just aren't going to cut it.

What happens in Les Arcs

Les arcs plays host to many sporting events such as the film festival in December and a Freeride week with a large freeride competition, movie screenings and concerts.

There are also a great selection of local town events such as firework displays, shows, and live music.

The Facilities

The largest village of Arc 1800 has the most facilities such as a sports centre and spa but all the others have more than enough to keep you comfortable during your stay.

Off Peak Weak recommends taking a day off the slopes to check out the historical town of Bourg Saint Mourice. There are some great shops and a beautiful, historical town centre.
