  • How do you say Les Gets?

    Lay/Jay

Resort Lowdown

The charming resort of Les Gets offers its visitors stunning views of Mont Blanc, endless tree runs and a vibrant town centre. Less than an hour from Geneva airport and at altitude of 1100m the town and the connecting Portes Du Soleil resort enjoys one of the highest average snow falls in the Alps due to the microclimate created by Lac Leman (Lac Geneva).

Les Gets town is a little smaller than many of the popular French resorts but those looking for a more intimate feel with very little commuting to the lifts, will love the atmosphere of the town with its lively apres bars and free entertainment such as the weekly firework displays.

  • Just 1 hour from Geneva Airport, Les Gets offers a true Alpine Experience. Unrivaled views of Mont blanc with quiet, tree-lined pistes weave down to a charming town center.

The SKI Area

“Portes Du Soleil” ski area, one of the biggest in the world boasting over 600 km of skiable terrain between altitudes of 900m and 2400m, connected by over 170 lifts. The area is split between France and Switzerland and sees some of the highest snowfall rates in the Alps, complete with state of the art snow making facilities to ensure even lower pistes remain in great condition.

Those learning or looking to not venture too far will enjoy the Les Gets local area pass with a more than ample selection of pistes for all abilities, including a snow park, a family run and a  slalom course lined with video cameras to prove who is the best!

When Does Les Gets Open?

The lifts open on the 15th of December 2017 and run until the 14th of April 2018

When To Go To Les Gets?

The sun soaked pistes in March are a snow lovers dream and a large part of the Les Gets remains sunny right up until the end of the day allowing visitors to ski all day and finish with a relaxing drink before riding right back down into town.

No school holidays mean a much better variety of available accomodation and very little queuing at the lifts.

Must Do Runs at Les Gets

When the snow falls the locals of the Portes Du Soleil have a well kept secret in Mont Cherie. Standing by itself on the far side of Les Gets this hill is full of challenging red and black slopes and fresh snow turns it into a freeriders paradise. Check out the incredible views of Mont Blanc from the top.

The Town

The ever expanding town of Les Gets has a true alpine feel as the architecture of all building remains sympathetic to Savoie traditions. Visitors are never more than walking distance from the town centre but for those with tired legs there is a charming “petit train” that will help you get from A to B in style.

The bars, restaurants and shops of the town give great variety and visitors can find fantastic traditional dishes along with food from all over the world. The small open air ice rink in the centre of town offers some off-piste entertainment.

What happens in Les Gets

Every Wednesday and Sunday there are apres ski concerts at the foot of the slopes which bring in large crowds and a great atmosphere, other larger concerts are common in the town from world famous artists such as Prodigy and UB40.

For something different check out Ski Colour in March where you are invited to put on white coveralls and throws paintballs at your fellow skiers. Sounds strange but trust us, it is a lot of fun.
